Materials

• 1 sheet of 7-count plastic canvas
• 1 skein each of DMC pearl cotton in the following colors: light pink, medium pink, dark pink, light blue, medium blue, dark blue, light green, medium green, dark green, and white
• 1 tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Glue

Instructions

1. Cut a 5" x 10" rectangle from the plastic canvas.
2. Starting at the bottom edge of the rectangle, stitch a row of single crochet stitches around the entire edge. This will create the bottom of the vase.
3. Next, stitch a row of half double crochet stitches around the entire edge. This will create the sides of the vase.
4. Continue stitching rows of double crochet stitches until the vase reaches the desired height. I made my vase 4" tall.
5. Once you have finished stitching the sides of the vase, stitch a row of single crochet stitches around the top edge. This will create the rim of the vase.
6. Now it's time to add the ribbons. Cut 10 strips of each color of pearl cotton, each strip measuring 12" long. Glue the ends of each strip to the inside of the vase, evenly spaced around the edge. You should have 10 strips of each color.
7. Take one strip each of light pink, medium pink, and dark pink and braid them together. Glue the end of the braid to the inside of the vase, next to one of the light pink ribbons. Repeat this process with the remaining colors.
8. Once all of the ribbons have been glued in place, use the tapestry needle to weave the ribbons through the holes in the plastic canvas. Start by weaving the ribbons through the holes in the bottom row of the vase. Then, continue weaving the ribbons up the sides of the vase, alternating the colors as you go. When you reach the top of the vase, glue the ends of the ribbons to the inside of the vase.
9. Your Pastel Ribbon Vase is now complete! Fill it with fresh flowers or simply display it on a shelf or table to add a touch of beauty to your home.

• You can use any color combination you like for your vase. I chose pastel colors for a soft and feminine look, but you could just as easily use bright colors for a more vibrant look.
